Wrinkle Treatment Q & A

How does the Pellevé Wrinkle Reduction System work?

As you get older, your body naturally loses collagen. This essential connective tissue is what keeps your skin smooth and elastic. As collagen breaks down, you’ll notice more fine lines and wrinkles.

When you schedule your Pelleve session, your provider will use a small handheld device and run it gently over your problem areas. The patented Pelleve system delivers radiofrequency waves beneath the surface of your skin. When the cells below warm up, your body goes into collagen-production mode.

While you won’t see instant results, over the weeks and months following your session, you’ll continue to notice smoother and smoother skin. This happens as collagen forms and fills in the gaps where your fine lines and wrinkles were.

Which areas can I have treated with Pellevé?

Pelleve was designed specifically for your face. The scientifically-tested system can improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles:

  • Between your eyes
  • Around your mouth
  • At the corner of your eyes (crow’s feet)
  • Underneath your eyes
  • Across your forehead
  • Across your cheeks

Will I need more than one treatment?

The number of treatments you need depends on how deep your folds and wrinkles are, as well as how you respond to the treatment. Most treatment plans include three to five sessions — all about four weeks apart from each other — although you may need fewer or additional appointments.

You can have your entire face treated in about an hour each time you visit. If you’re only having a small area worked on, your session can be completed in about a half hour. Either way, you could even schedule your treatments on your lunch break, so no one has to know.

Does wrinkle treatment with Pellevé hurt and how long is the recovery?

Women usually explain that Pellevé feels like getting a hot stone massage. You might be somewhat sensitive in delicate areas, such as around your eyes, but you shouldn’t be in any pain.

Your skin might look a little red after your treatment, although that’s just because your skin temperature is slightly elevated. Any redness will fade shortly afterward and you’ll be able to return to your regular activities right away.
