About Collins

Karen Collins CNM, WHNP, FNP received her Associate Degree in nursing from Parkland College in 1991. Karen later earned a Bachelor degree from Eastern Illinois University through the business department. She has a diverse nursing background including pediatrics, Intensive care and several years in labor and delivery. She went on to receive her Master of Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she specialized in Nurse Midwifery and women’s health Care.

Karen has worked as a Certified Nurse Midwife and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner for five years.  She has recently completed a post masters in Family practice through Indiana State University. Karen has also taught undergraduate nursing students at the University of Illinois and has been a preceptor for graduate nursing students.

Karen is a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives. She and her husband John enjoy traveling and spending time with their children Kaycee and Tim.
